-As our Apparel Developer, you will lead development efforts focused on Apparel and Accessories.
-Developer should have an understanding of new technologies in the fabric and apparel industry and know how to apply them to product lines.
-You will lead the product development process and partner with the Project Manager, customer and creative team to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
-You must have expert knowledge of apparel construction, costing and design in order to effectively construct into price targets.
-Candidate must be comfortable sharing development experience, skills and best practices with other team members.
Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design/ Development 2. Minimum 5 years related experience 3. 2 years additional experience in lieu of a degree 4. Proven management skills in leading a team through complete life-cycle process, from concept through product launch. 5. Exceptional ability to apply and perform development skills, including drawing/sketching, concept creation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, visual presentation, scale and layout. 6. Comprehensive understanding of garment construction and textiles. 7. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills. 8. Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism. 9. Accustomed to working in a rapidly changing environment and managing multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes. 10. Ability to create new ideas, concepts, brand vision, generate consensus and work cooperatively. Key Responsibilities: 1. Work with designers and customers to build tech packs ensuring price targets are acheivable and within reach. 2. Innovate and develop styles and fabrics with knowledge of technical fit, fabric performance and end use of garment. 3. Reverse engineer product where applicable. 4. Maintain all testing standards are followed for all styles, all brands. 5. Assist in management of the work loads of designers and developers and jump in whenever necessary. 6. Mentor and lead developers in time management, process improvement and driving quick and clear decisions. 7. Ensure development is managed in PLM system and assist in managing others in on-boarding to system. 8. Hold meetings with internal and global team whenever necessary to ensure collaboration and efficiencies. 9. Lead meetings with customers and co-workers to bring closure to development questions. 10. Identify key fabrication and trim opportunities by brand to evolve assortment mix and drive sales. 11. Set up calendars for innovation projects and assist PM's in driving completion dates for on time launch. 12. Drive price, MOQ and leadtimes for fabrics and trims.
