Assistant Controller


Our client, a sustainable menswear brand, is seeking a driven individual to manage the day-to-day accounting processes, assist with financial planning and analysis and help with other operational activities within our growing business. The ideal candidate will have experience in double-entry accounting, preferably Full Circle.  


  • Support annual corporate tax filings and financial audit process with external auditors to ensure timely completion 
  • Ensure that reported results comply with all accounting principles and financial reporting standards 
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process in dual- entry systems 
  • Prepare period end bank account and A/R and A/P reconciliations
  • Manage capital expenditures and reporting process
  • Support Operations team to achieve more effective financial results
  • Continue to establish, monitor, implement and maintain strong accounting policies, procedures and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Assist senior management in various ad-hoc analyses as needed 

The Ideal Candidate:

In addition to at least 5 years of work experience (ideally some in Wholesale/Retail/Ecommerce) the ideal candidate will meet these qualifications: 

  • Detail-oriented, organized and ability to adapt and overcome the challenges of a rapidly growing fast pace ever changing environment while maintaining control of deliverables
  • Strong understanding financial accounting laws and regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills including data analysis and forward-looking modeling capabilities
  • Ability to work an ERP system
  • Understands the value of a sustainable lifestyle - powering through peaks while also making time to rest and recharge and be your best self
  • Has professional judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality of business information

Work Environment:

Work will be conducted in a creative office environment with associated distractions such as noise from telephones, keyboards, computers and brilliant ideas.
