Associate Product Development Manager- Handbags


The Associate Product Manager is responsible in supporting the product life cycle from development to production. This role provides overall global value and quality, developing product strategy and executing order processing, sample tracking and daily communication with internal teams, vendors and factories.


• Manage factory relationships for both new developments and core businesses through the end-to-end product lifecycle

• Support Creative Director in partnership between Design, Raw Materials, Technical Design, Merchandising and Production Operations to ensure that the product being developed meets aesthetic requirements within the targeted cost parameters

• Create and distribute seasonal factory WIP’s with clear direction for factories to proceed with sampling

• Maintain seasonal Master WIP to monitor product lifecycle (development-production) milestones

• Own production calendar, ensuring internal and external partners adhere to product roadmap timelines

• Continually assess vendors and spending, including forecasting, capacity planning, and sampling and manufacturing lead-times

• Monitor manufacturers and factories to obtain new product releases and secure priorities in production

• Assess risk at each stage of development, escalating issues per Risk Assessment policy

• Manage sample ordering, tracking, check in, reporting and hand-offs- including Protos, Market, PR, contractual and Rigging Samples

• Work with Creative Services and Visual Merchandising to confirm updates on samples

• Acts as key resource for all quality related functions and information

• Track and report all issues for vendor meetings and manage communication of updates to internal team of delays and production shortages/overages

• Travel to suppliers, factories, offices as needed


  • 4+ years experience in Product Development or Production of Handbags and/or Accessories
  • Proficiency in Excel and Illustrator
  • Experience with overseas development (Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong)
  • Ability to work ON SITE / IN OFFICE as needed
