Brand Manager

Position Overview: 
We are seeking an experienced brand manager to lead New Product Development and Go-To-Market strategy and execution. He/she will be responsible for creating concepts to pioneer innovation the color care category while meeting financial goals and leading cross-functional teams to deliver all projects on time. 
General Responsibilities: 
1. Own the development of new products from start to finish including: 
• Project manage the product development process to ensure a robust pipeline and on-time shipping 
• Conduct white space analysis 
• Conduct and summarize competitive research 
• Develop new product concepts 
• Develop product formula profiles 
• Manage supplier communication from brief to production 
• Write product copy (romance and usage) 
• Develop compelling claims 

2. Own the promotional program development from start to finish including: 
• Project manage the promotions process from concept to production 
• Develop a bi-monthly calendar of strong promotional concepts that meet or exceed net sales and GP targets 
• Develop initial sales forecast based on historical promotional performance and sku performance 
• Develop new product launch promotions 
• Develop concepts for non-product GWP items; identify cost target and partner with Operations to develop items 
• Develop bi-monthly sales presentations containing concept, pricing and other pertinent financial and creative content to sell in the promotions 
• Conduct post-promotion analyses; share with management the sales results, learning and implications for future promotions 

3. Work with outside agencies or independent contractors/consultants – as needed 

4. Provide sales and education support including: 
• Development of presentations 
• Development of account-specific assets 
• Presenting marketing initiatives in conjunction with Head of Marketing 
• Handling distributor correspondence for key communications 

5. Manage leads from advertising, and ensure letters and samples are sent to all, with communication to sales and distributors regarding same 

6. Other duties as needed to support Marketing, Sales and PR efforts. 

7. Manage one direct report (Marketing Coordinator) and potentially a Marketing Intern. 

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a relevant field from a four-year college or university 
• 7+ years marketing experience in the beauty industry, salon professional experience a bonus. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail and follow-through 
• Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time 
• Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
• Self-motivated and driven to win
