Our client, a leading retailer, is looking for a Buyer for their NYC Showroom.  This role is a buyer role but requires on floor time – so different then our home office buyer roles who spend time in stores but are not based in stores and interacting with store staff and consumers on a day to day basis.. This role reports directly to the Director of Merchandising for the Mainline and ECOM businesses. While a buy will be made from the global offer, it is important that this candidate be able to have an eye for trend balanced with a sense of what is a commercial buy. 

A good eye for store layouts and general merchandising also helpful. Most importantly we need a good communicator. 

Job Responsibilities Include:
• Ongoing analysis of product performance using both standard reporting tools combined direct interactions with consumers and store leadership in store. 

• Prepare for and attend regional milestones

• Responsible for building store buy in partnership with planning. 

• Build seasonal brief specific to TSQ for regional merchants to incorporate in broader LSA needs. 

• Partner closely with Store Management, Home Office Marketing and Brand Environment teams to address local opportunities, driving product perfromance 

• Recommend specific product promotions specific to TSQ. 

• Monitor and react to competitive landscape in NYC market. 

Key Relationships: 
This role requires interaction with Regional Merchant team, Planning team, Marketing, Brand Environment, and Retail Ops partners. A high level of collaboration, problem solving and communication skills required.

Job Qualifications Include:

Bachelor degree required along with 4+ years of retail or merch experience

• Proven working knowledge of apparel merchandising

• Proven experience in implementing effective business processes and managing complex, cross functional projects

• Ability to effectively interact with Sr. level roles – Director/VP/SVP

• Ability to effectively problem solve

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented

• Proficient with software applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Power Point
