Our client in the outdoor apparel industry seeks a Buying Coordinator for a yearlong contract position that could convert to a fulltime role.
The nature of the work is focused on presenting and merchandising product to consumers. Help buyers develop the category buying strategy for retail stores. Master the fundamentals of building seasonal buying and promotional strategies and creating optimal product assortments. Develop the ability to make consistently accurate sales forecasts and assist with open to buy forecasts Communicate category buying strategies, vision and business results to cross functional and category business partners. Communicate frequently with Planning and Allocation to share business updates and partner on integration of planning, allocation and buying processes. Analyze performance and results of past buying strategies and identify opportunities for improvements Collaborate with key stakeholders who own the build process and help ensure that the retail stores have the right types and quantity of product available to meet their needs. Seek out educational opportunities to increase knowledge of buying best practices and organization-specific policies, procedures, and standards.
1 year buying/buying coordinator/merchandise coordinator experience. Typical Office: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.
Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 0-1 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 1 yr; Masters + 0-3 yrs; Associates degree + 1-3 yrs; High School + 3-5 yrs.
