Leading Orange County based company is looking for a Controller to join their team!


Responsible for the accounting operations of the organization to include the production of periodic financial reports, oversight of the accounting systems, recordkeeping, and management of the comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the organization's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as state and federal regulations. Ensures the integrity of the financial statements critical to the property. Provides oversight in audits of financial statements by external auditors and regulators and ensures compliance with all hospitality reporting requirements.



·         Produce timely and accurate financial and accounting reports that are compliant with all applicable statutes, regulations, and policies.

·         Manage all general accounting, payroll, and purchasing which include performing month-end close process, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliations, procurement, shipping & receiving, inventory, variance analysis, project management and maintain fixed asset records

·         Annual budget and monthly forecast preparation

·         Maintain strong internal control throughout the property

·         Provide timely and accurate responses to requests for information from internal and external offices

·         Develop, maintain and improve financial and accounting policies and procedures; modify organizational structure to improve operations and services delivery

·         Oversee tax related matters to ensure they are met in a timely manner

·         Responsible for also overseeing and managing the Purchasing department

·         Managing relationships with external auditor



·         Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge

·         Skills to oversee ERP system and database maintenance including working with internal and external software support as necessary

·         Ability to oversee all aspects of the accounting area including AR, AP, Credit & Collection, Payroll and General Ledger.  Ensure the month close is completed accurately and within the monthly close cycle, including the preparation and review of all Balance Sheet account reconciliations and key accruals

·         The position requires an articulate and effective communicator able to present technical, financial information in a clear, concise manner

·         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·         Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

·         Hospitality experience

·         Advanced computer skills required in accounting software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Birchstreet



·         At least 1-3 years of progressively responsible financial management experience

·         Responsible for the coordination, completion, and timely filing and submission of reports, including but not limited to tax reporting

·         Strong project management skills including an ability to multi-task, prioritize and respond quickly within a rapidly changing environment

·         Exceptional technical writing, analytical, and problem solving skills
