Creative Director

Our client’s mission is to help people feel confident with their money. We focus on beautiful interfaces, transparent policies, and modern technology to bring that mission to life. The job: You’ll partner with our marketing leads to translate business goals into creative strategy and compelling marketing campaigns. You’ll come up with big ideas, establish and weave a broader narrative across an entire campaign, and coach and guide your creative team on execution. You’ll lead and manage our in-house designer, copywriter and front-end developer, report in to the VP of Marketing, and work with a crew of talented folks doing meaningful work. The team: We (the marketing team) are on a mission to create a beloved brand. We’re all about sharing the story of our brand and product, bringing new customers onboard, connecting them to new features, and fostering a community of fans and advocates. About you: Your background is in design and your art director skills are top notch, but as your career has progressed, you’ve also learned to spot the start of a clever tagline, compelling headline, or inspiring manifesto and deftly guide it to its reach its full potential. Your known for establishing clear campaign direction that enables creatives to thrive and for helping your team step up to the plate with an inspired sense of urgency when needed. You have a knack for translating intangible stuff (like digital services and apps) into tangible and meaningful messages and communications. You’ve likely worked in tech, are all about the consumer, and your heart is truly in marketing. What you’ll do all day: ? Concept original ideas and lead the creative development of integrated campaigns, primarily through digital channels and emerging media platforms (though on occasion, we go old-school and tackle some traditional!) ? Partner with other marketing leads (brand, acquisition, product marketing) to translate business goals into smart creative strategy ? Oversee the creative process and manage a creative team day-to-day: delegate work when necessary, set priorities, and ensure creative is clear, beautiful and effective ? Direct, guide and review all marketing design, copy and interactive experiences ? Strengthen our ability to scale, learn and iterate by developing visual systems, toolkits, or guiding principles ? Continuously evaluate the impact of your team’s work, making adjustments to further optimize or create space for new areas of focus ? Foster the collective success, health and teamwork of the marketing creative team and the entire marketing department. Required: ? Marketing is your passion. ? 8-10 years experience leading the creation of integrated brand, product and acquisition campaigns for digital service or mobile app consumer brands; 3-5 years experience managing a design/creative team ? Success in developing big ideas that forge strong emotional connections between the brand and the consumer and compel them to take action ? A work history or portfolio that showcases your knack for getting to the heart of a wide variety of consumer brands and your ability to “speak” them through voice and visuals ? Proven ability to manage and direct both designers and writers to achieve a distinct brand voice and unique visual aesthetic ? Experience working at a tech company highly preferred; you thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven, MVP world and have previously applied that mindset to your own team and creative working style ? Leadership capabilities: You have a point of view and are decisive when needed; you've likely trained junior creatives and you're comfortable divvying up work and setting priorities ? Highly strategic mindset: You have a strong commitment to effective creative, not just beautiful creative ? People like to work with you and for you.
