Data Manager/Analyst

Our local client is a leading provider of software applications for environmental conservation efforts. They develop knowledge infrastructures for conservation, restoration, and sustainable development. This is a fulltime role with competitive pay and excellent benefits. 

We are looking for a data manager / analyst to join our team in our downtown Portland office. The successful candidate will get to work on a team with like-minded folks on cutting-edge web, mobile, and cloud applications that aim to protect and restore our natural world. This is a full-time, mid-level position that will not only work with developers in Portland, but also with the biologists, habitat specialists, researchers, and managers of an important tribal client as they work to preserve and restore important salmon runs in the Pacific Northwest. You will be responsible for organizing/implementing many client-focused data management and analysis activities, and you will coordinate with our development team to ensure that solid information systems and data are in place to facilitate quality decision making. Core Requirements • 5-10 years of relevant job experience • Personable, outgoing, good communication skills • Comfortable working in teams or individually • Curious, creative, eager to learn • Ability to persuade others and exhibit leadership on projects • Attention to detail and follow through with customers • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple, simultaneous tasks • Solid SQL and relational database skills (SQL Server, Microsoft Access) • Proficient in Excel • Require work experience where you've managed or analyzed complex data for a research project or study in an environmental subject area, especially fish biology or stream habitats Nice-to-Haves • ArcGIS experience, not just cartography but analytical skills as well • Experience using R for modeling, analysis, and visualization of data • Some level of familiarity with Python or other scripting language • Any academic or work background in data science, machine learning

Location • Limited travel in Washington State is required • Must live in the Portland, Oregon area or be willing to relocate
