Digital Designer - Freelance

Our client, an innovative brand in the south bay has an immediate need for a Digital Designer. This is an ongoing onsite freelance role that has potential to go fulltime for the right candidate.

We are looking for a seasoned Digital Graphic Designer who can deliver innovative and forward-thinking designs that are well-composed, on-brand and meet the marketing and business objectives. The ideal candidate would be well versed in the latest digital content trends and design techniques. He/she will be reporting into the Marketing department’s Creative Lead to design digital assets from emails to paid media ads to partner campaign collateral, with a high-motor work ethic and great eye for details.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 4-year Bachelor's degree, concentration in Graphic Arts required 3-5 years of related work experience Consumer packaged goods / storytelling experience in digital executions a plus Strong organization skills and highly detail oriented (eye for detail, composition and typography matter as much to you as they would a print designer) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate with team members of all levels Capability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment Ensure all work is in line with brand values and follows the relevant brand & design guidelines Demonstrate creative thinking that takes already established strategies and translates them into dynamic digital creative executions Have experience designing responsive digital content that works across different devices (mobile, tablets, apps), as well as a good understanding of which platform works best for any given requirement Be excited by all things art and design, taking inspiration from a wide range of sources (from utilizing existing images, mocked-up imagery and film, and mood boards to support thinking and add weight to ideas)


Create new email concepts and compelling designs for our promotional emails that are optimized for both mobile and desktop Develop assets for more templatized marketing emails for automated triggered campaigns, allowing us to launch more personalized communications at scale Design creative for paid media, seasonal campaigns, social media, partners (retail and brand) Ability to create animations (GIFs) to help aid in product education and tell a story Route all creative to the appropriate stakeholder(s) and apply feedback and edits in a timely manner Stay abreast of the digital landscape – explore ideas of advancements in technology and design, trends in social and connected products etc.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Experience working in an email service provider (Dotmailer, Klaviyo, Listrak, etc.) to upload assets and create email templates for email marketing campaigns. Basic understanding of HTML, ability to hand-code a plus Experience with / working knowledge of SketchUp
