Digital Marketing Manager (Acquisition) - temp to hire

Our client, a CPG startup on the westside has an immediate need for a Digital Marketing Manager. This is a freelance position onsite with potential to go fulltime for the right candidate.

You will be charged with identifying appropriate growth channels and developing plans across paid media, affiliates, and email. You will oversee test and learn acquisition opportunities, and engage with partner teams to plan, execute, and track initiatives.

You can take traditional digital marketing methodology across paid media, affiliates, and email, and redefine it in the highly regulated landscape of cannabis. Oversee all aspects of digital marketing channels from strategy and calendaring to creative development and day-to-day management for consumer experience, acquisition and retention.
Define audience and channel strategy to achieve optimal business results in context of the customer journey and user flow.
Strategically test various audience growth methods, keeping in mind cannabis industry marketing restrictions.
Setup and deploy lifecycle management campaigns that maintain journeys, triggers, and automations with content.
Define measurement plan: Align measurement approach with desired campaign objectives.
Report to the Senior Marketing Director.

Performance Marketing

Develop paid media campaigns that drive lead acquisition and nurture existing leads.
Vet, onboard, and manage new vendors to find the optimal partner mix taking into account budgets and business goals and objectives. 
Oversee creative execution including messaging, landing page selection and/or development, and A/B testing.


Day to day management of advertising affiliate program, with a strong emphasis on channel growth.
Closely monitor affiliate/publisher sites to ensure all brand related content is up to date, accurate, and a great representation of brand values.


Setup and deploy lifecycle management campaigns that maintain journeys, triggers, and automations with content.
Ensure prompt, accurate, and error-free communication with consumers to build loyal relationships and minimize unsubscribes.
Manage trigger email campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle to maximize sales.
Carry out segmentation of the database and implementing remarketing strategies.
Ensure all email campaigns comply with current email best practice in the industry.


5+ Years in similar role within an agency or brand environment
Bachelor's degree with a focus on Marketing, Communications or Business
Proven history of strategically and tactically growing a consumer audience
Proven understanding of how to plan, develop, execute and optimize digital campaigns using paid media, affiliates, and email
Strong quantitative analysis skills, utilizing analytics to provide strategic recommendations and drive concrete action
Strategic, innovative thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with demonstrable ability to articulate and persuasively sell strategic concepts within company
Entrepreneurial – able to deal with ambiguity and work with little or no direction. Ability to produce with limited budget and resources
