Director of Benefits

Group Director of U.S Benefits to join our Human Resources team in NY. You will be a subject matter expert overseeing the strategy, deployment, management and all of our U.S. employee benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement, and flexible spending accounts. You will be a key member of the U.S. Total Reward team and will manage and develop one direct report.
Your role will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, design, implementation and communication associated with the company’s benefit programs.
Leveraging your unique experiences, the company will enable you to…

• Develop, implement, and track KPIs of multi-year benefits strategy
• Support the U.S Head of Total Rewards to ensure that the strategic goals determined by Senior Management are met. This includes conducting research and analysis, proposing recommendations, and developing presentation materials that support the Total Reward Strategy
• Partner with cross-functional groups including People & Organization, Operations, IT, Finance, Payroll, and Legal to ensure alignment of the benefit programs and services
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, the Internal Revenue Code, and more. Partner with the Benefits Lead and People Operations and Experience team to oversee the preparation and submittal of government-mandated reporting and compliance
• Partner with People Operations and Experience team and relevant 3rd party vendors to ensure accurate administration of programs in line with legal plan documents and plan requirements
• Work with broker and internal procurement to run request for proposals and renewals for benefit plans. Negotiate with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors and consultants for services, premiums and plan administration
• Partner with Legal to contract with vendor partners and draft new / maintain existing Legal Plan Documents governing the company’s benefit plans
• Manage relationships with benefits providers and benefits broker to ensure exceptional service is delivered to the company and programs are designed and implemented accurately, effectively and efficiently
• Work with vendor partners, internal communications, and consultants, as appropriate, to create comprehensive communication strategy action plan and develop employee education and communications to plan participants (consisting of both current and former employees)
• Regularly monitor and evaluate all benefit programs including obtaining estimates, forecasts and calculations of expenditures in benefits for budget planning and tracking
• Manage highly escalated participant cases
• Maintain expert knowledge of:
• Trends and practices in the industry and among similar organizations in the luxury retail space
• Benefit laws and ensures organizational compliance with all relevant government regulations, including ACA, ERISA reporting and disclosure requirements, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, and the relevant sections of the Internal Revenue Code

• Management experience and ability to coach, mentor and develop talent

Position Logistics:
• Minimum of 10 years of Total Rewards experience in benefits
• Professional or Benefits certification a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, human resources, or related field
• Experience managing people
