Director of People

The Director of People will be responsible for development and management of people and culture initiatives to drive a high performing, balanced organization. As the first full-time hire in People and HR management for the company, this individual will have an opportunity to shape the organization for the future growth of the business. The role requires a strong demonstrated capability and track record in building and driving all People Ops functions in a fast-paced and high-growth environment, across recruiting, talent management, org design and culture.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all talent acquisition initiatives to develop and implement best practices for hiring best-in-class talent
• Partner with leadership team on organizational design, personnel budget and effective change management through scale
• Support employees in drafting, revising and maintaining job descriptions
• Manage placement of job posting and advertisements and conduct initial screening of candidates to hire top talent efficiently
• Work with leadership team to develop and implement clear onboarding program for all new hires as well as exit interviews for outgoing employees
• Manage all personnel issues and act as trusted advisor for all employees
• Develop and implement ongoing team building initiatives – lunches, birthdays, outings, swag, anniversaries
• Work with leadership team to further enhance and uphold core company values
• Refine and manage our annual 360-performance reviews for all employees to enhance career development and growth
• Work closely with leadership, managers, and all team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
• Develop and manage formal discipline and performance improvement plans
• Identify and implement professional development opportunities for all employees including external training courses and in-house trainings
• Act as primary contact for administration of all HR policies, benefits, processes, payroll, employee handbook, guidelines and resources
• Ensure all Federal, state, and local laws, and corporate HR-related compliance matters are proactively addressed, monitor PTO for compliance, as well as maintain complete personnel files and all related documentation
• 6+ years work experience as an HR generalist across recruiting, talent management, org design and culture
• Preferred experience in high-growth organization and change management through scale
• Knowledge of relevant HR policies, all federal and state employment laws
• Proven track record of leading and scaling people infrastructure
• Clear communication skills, capable of working well across multiple business units
• Ability to thrive within a fast-paced startup environment, balance competing priorities, and create structure and processes
