Director, Product Marketing

Client Overview:

Position Overview:

In this role, you would be responsible for overseeing forecasts for existing and new products and evaluate competitive data to determine areas of opportunity and needs.

Responsibilities:

• Manage forecasts for existing and new products and evaluate competitive data to determine areas of opportunity and needs

• Lead the marketing calendar and 360 program support to deliver financial objectives for the North America Affiliate

• Serve as the product marketing expert and work with sales, finance, visual merchandising, events, and global marketing

• Direct individual program development, including identifying market-tailoring opportunities and specific execution elements at market-level

• Evaluate US and CA NPD competitive data to determine areas of opportunity and needs and define optional program distribution strategy with help of retail marketing

• Oversee individual program development for NA and identify market-tailoring opportunities and specific execution elements at market-level with the global team

• Lead the Product Marketing function and provide ongoing guidance for overall demand needs for basic business planning 

• Manage forecasting of product and collateral, maximize sell-through, and minimize excess and lost sales in partnership with demand planning

• Tailor lineup and business mix to differentiate across channels, create annual competitive pricing, propose 3-year pricing initiatives, and achieve consensus with global marketing, sales, and finance 

• Oversee analysis of category portfolio and SKU productivity resulting in recommendations for SKU discontinuation

• Customize global calendar to NA affiliate needs and enable achievement of category growth targets and market share gains 

• Ensure program grids, side by sides, and programming calendars are maintained on a weekly basis for the NA affiliate

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree a plus

• 10 years’ marketing experience

• Strong understanding of the brand and motivation for its unique positioning, culture, and consumer dynamics 

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills 

• Excellent judgment, and ability to work independently

• Knowledge of North America competitive landscape related to brands and products, with focus on the makeup category
