Email Marketing Assistant

Our client, a leading retailer, is looking for a contract Marketing Assistant. 
This role is responsible for strategic input and execution of emails for the brand. This position will report to the email team. 

Key Job Responsibilities Include: 

Own Flawless Execution: 
? Think customer first by evaluation the customer journey on all QA emails 
? Ensure emails ladder up to best business practices to optimize results 
? Responsible for flawless execution on all emails – QA images, linking, count approvals, etc… 
? Scrub marketing calendar to ensure it is aligned with the briefs 

Champion Process: 
? Identify opportunities and drive the team towards more efficient and effective process through partnership with production, CEM and email vendor 
? Meet weekly with site merchants to ensure marketing and product are aligned 
? Own and/or contribute to pre-season planning 

Drive Email Storytelling: 
? Manage in-season briefing process 
? Participate in seasonal hindsight that drives future messages 

Inform Business through Analytics: 
? Own weekly recapping making recommendations (both short and long-term) based on findings 
? Contribute to ad-hoc analysis (pulling testing and third party functionality results) 

Drive Innovation: 
? Executes email testing plan and SMS program 
? Provides input to the Email Manager to help inform testing plan 
? Lead testing including development of testing plan, test design, test execution and reading test results 
? Passion for mobile innovation 

Key Organizational Relationships: 
Customer Engagement Marketing (CEM), SalesForce Marketing Cloud (email vendor, Site and Promotions Teams, Buying, Creative and Production 

Leadership and Technical Skills Needed for the Position include: 
? Passion for brand and the retail/fashion industry and a track record of being customer-focused 
? Relentless attention to detail and quality assurance 
? Exceptional organizational skills 
? Ability to work in fast-paced environments, deal with ambiguity, and prioritize multiple projects 
? History of creating effective cross-functional partnerships 
? Experience interpreting key metrics to inform marketing strategies 
? Strong written and verbal communication skills and especially the ability to glean insights and tell a story from the data 
? Omniture experience (optional) 
? Experience working with an email vendor (optional) 

Minimum Qualifications: 
? 2-4 years of marketing, CEM/CRM, or email vendor experience 
? Strong excel and analytical skills 
? Ability and willingness to quickly learn tools and processes 
? Drive and flexibility with schedule to meet business demands
