Email Marketing & SEO Specialist

Client Overview:

Our client is a leading global toy and entertainment company that has been designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing consumer products for 25 years. 

General:

  • The Email marketing and SEO specialist will be responsible for managing all email marketing campaigns for B2C and B2B business as well as performing keyword analysis and research to improve website ranking
  • This role resides within the Digital department and involves collaborating with the brand, web dev team, social media teams for maximized success
  • Necessary skills include: 2-3 years’ experience in SEO and Email marketing
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit to develop a strong rapport with various internal and external stake-holders and brand teams to achieve organizational success

Specific Responsibilities:

EMAIL MARKETING

  • Establish email marketing strategies and ensure timely execution of email marketing initiatives (B2C and B2B)
  • Set cadence of delivery times, build out audience segmentations, manage promotional calendar and communication for all email campaigns
  • Work with in-house creative teams to coordinate production of email design, subject lines and copy
  • Coordinate approvals with brand and sales teams and implement any necessary edits
  • Monitor and report on email analytics through tracking codes and A/B testing. Provide actionable insights and recommendations for future improvements
  • Develop strategies to improve open rates and click through rates for both campaigns and behavioral emails.
  • Manage the CRM lists for multiple brands while collaborating with web teams to build segments and understand customer behavior/customer lifecycle
  • Research and benchmark against market/competitors in order to develop competitive edge and provide recommendations based on strategic insights and learnings
  • Act as the business liaison with the Email Service Provider, understanding their technology offering and be able to fully leverage and utilize the platform


SEO

  • Identify opportunities for keyword expansion and constantly test new features/approaches, including beta tests
  • Manage all on-site optimization – including meta tags, content, site architecture, internal linking, sitemaps, load speed, URL paths etc. that will help improve SEO and website ranking
  • Conduct regular research and analysis to identify new opportunities for organic website traffic growth
  • Research and contact websites that can provide potential back-linking opportunities in collaboration with our internal PR and influencer teams
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific
  • Continually revitalize and optimize website content for stronger SEO ranking based on Google Analytic data
  • Prepare reports for management detailing campaign performance within insights and recommendations for future considerations
  • Keep up to date with SEO, social media and internet marketing industry trends and development
  • Providing quality off-site back linking and optimization
  • Interacting with front-end developers and Digital Managers
  • Work with Analytics team to build monthly SEO reports based on rankings, traffic, impressions, device usage, CTR, etc. and share with brand teams
  • Work with Creative team to develop SEO-informed content strategies and optimized copy
  • Collaborate closely with web team and IT to ensure new site builds, pages, and projects are built in-line with SEO best-practices.

Required Skill Set:

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects/deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within a team environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, SEO and Google Analytics (Including Google Tag Manager)
  • 2+ years' experience in an email marketing role - experience with large volume/enterprise-level email campaign development and deployment is a definite asset
  • 2-3 years of SEO experience (preferably in an enterprise-level agency environment) and a proven track record of improving organic search performance
  • A keen eye for detail - someone who can mine through data and extract relevant, actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with Analytics tools (Adobe Analytics/Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Email Marketing tools (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Drip, SendInBlue etc.)
  • Familiarity with SEO and local search tools (Conductor Searchlight, Google Search Console, SEOMOZ, SEMrush, Yext, SweetIQ, Google My Business, etc.)

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification in Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Previous agency experience in Search, Email Marketing & SEO is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, database etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a background in Sales and/or Marketing
