Graphic/Web Designer

Our client is a large, local sportwear company looking for a Graphic/Web Designer to join the team. 

As the Graphic/Web Designer you will support the Footwear Technical Training team with creating and updating technical training content for Footwear Creation team members, as well as bringing to life a new internal Onboarding and Resources component to our existing internal WordPress site. In your day-to-day work you will support the Footwear Technical Training team through website creation, website updates, and content design work in the form of presentation decks, QRGs (Quick Reference Guides), one-pagers, printed class handouts, interactive online content, videos, learning tutorials, and more. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals, from concept to execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Wordpress website development in partnership with our internal web development team
  • Develop compelling visual onboarding toolkit for the SOLE website, through typographic, photographic, illustrative and other graphic elements
  • Present the end user with a visual interface so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.
  • Designing and creating new content to support training courses and programming
  • Adjusting, updating, formatting, and applying branding to new and existing content
  • Applying design thinking and instructional design methodology to the creation of new and existing content with Footwear Creation learners in mind
  • Supporting the team with design consultation and collaboration

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience creating WordPress websites and/or apps for mobile devices and digital content creation
  • Expertise in UX/UI design and using WordPress tools such as Beaver Builder
  • Proven expert ability to understand and incorporate web design principles
  • Solid foundation in typography, layout, and general design through the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Thoughtful communicator and excellent team player
  • Strong instincts for how layout, composition, type, color and images contribute to impactful training
  • Conceptual thinker who sees design as visual communication and executes to the highest level
  • Self-managed, self-motivated, and can also work well in team collaborative environment
  • Enjoys working with tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with keen attention to detail, clear communication and professionalism
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into visually compelling designs that support learning content & experiences
  • Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and provide guidance with functional expertise

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Captivate
  • Instructional design experience
  • Experience in video production, video editing, and blended learning modules
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, especially InDesign

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field with 6+ years experience in design direction, demonstrated storytelling skills, content creation/editing and web design creation
