HR Benefits Specialist

Position Overview:
The HR Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering day-to-day group benefit programs, assist in planning and recommending new programs and initiate improvements, and serve as point of contact for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:
• Provide customer service and serve as primary contact for benefit inquiries
• Effectively communicate benefit plans and changes
• Assist in the enrollment process for all benefit plans
• Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate invoice reconciliation
• Collaborate with marketing to ensure that all benefit material is up to date
• Plan administration
• Assist in benefit plan audits
• Keep up to date on benefit trends and compliance issues 
• Assist in the management of the benefit plan renewal process
• Coordinate time off requests, FMLA and disability leaves

Key Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree required
• At least two years of benefit experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in-writing
• The ideal candidate will be effective working both independently and as a team member with superior customer focus
• Experience facilitating benefit orientations and open enrollment information meetings
• Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• High volume customer service experience in an HR/Benefits role
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and welfare benefits administration and policies
