HR Specialist/Generalist

Our client, a multi-category children's entertainment company, is looking for an HR Specialist/Generalist!

Job Overview: The HR Specialist/Generalist is responsible for participating in all aspects of Human Resources, back-end operational, and tactical support for employees at the Los Angeles office as well as throughout the United States and Mexico. The ideal candidate will be motivated and hungry to learn all aspects of HR, must be honest and trustworthy, possess a cultural awareness and sensitivity and demonstrate a sound work ethic. This role will assist the US/Mexico HR Team with invoicing, SAP, on-boarding & orientations, systems, new hire packets, total rewards, training/development, retention, and all administrative tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all HR Systems (WorkDay, ADP WorkforceNow, including ATS, On-Boarding, Off-Boarding, Reconciliation, and Reporting)
  • Aid the Payroll & Systems Specialist in all aspects of Unemployment Claims, Worker’s Compensation, Leave Administration, COBRA Administration, Total Reward Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll (as secondary)
  • Support Payroll & Systems Specialist with Benefits Administration for all benefits related questions, reconciling billing questions, and enrollment of new and existing employees
  • Assist with the orientation process for new hires, temps, contractors
  • Manage the workflow for the New Hire Standard Operation Procedures (including new hire e-packets, welcome/introduction emails to include the Bio + Pic portion for all new associates, orientation schedules, and on-boarding experience surveys)
  • Prepare and maintain Electronic File Administration for US & Mexico ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality
  • Assist with audits such as I-9s, employee files, 401k, and benefits
  • Support the employee training and development initiatives
  • Partner with Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and other vendors for Corporate Giving and Volunteering opportunities • Help facilitate the Social/Fun Committee and coordinate Events
  • Complete Invoicing & SAP administration for the HR/TA team
  • Help facilitate legal & cultural trainings for all new employees
  • Assist with Career Fairs
  • Administer background checks and verify employment eligibility using E-Verify
  • Perform reference checks on all new associates
  • Perform all administrative duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by HR/TA

Management Team Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent certification/experience required
  • 2-4 years progressive experience in a Human Resources position
  • Must have experience with ADP, Workday, and SAP
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a high level of discretion with prior experience handling confidential information
  • Must be able to work independently with ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage a heavy ever-changing workload
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Highly organized, detail oriented
  • Analytic and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
