Manager, Packaging Development/Engineer (Prestige Fragrances)

Client Overview: 

Our client is a privately owned PRESTIGE FRAGRANCE company who’s known for their extensive licensed portfolio where they produce and distribute under a brand name. Brands include Anna Sui, Abercrombie & Fitch, Jimmy Choo, Coach, Dunhill and many more. 

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Drive innovation by presenting new packaging concepts, technologies and delivery systems; search new applicable technologies both within and outside our industry in order to continuously support product innovation.

  • Provide supplier recommendation/selection; implement package tests for all projects; comprehensive feasibility of each concept/package include its manufacturability, component cost, tooling estimates, lead time.

  • Partner with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance (QA) to define specifications, design criteria and defect ranges to ensure optimal process flow from manufacture of components through filling and assembly.

  • Develop package specifications and validate technical drawings required to ensure the success of the project.

  • Ensure that packages/components meet the needs of the Brand, Regulatory and Environmental Legislation, and consumer safety, in collaboration with Regulatory Department.

  • Provide detailed component timelines including all package development tasks; identify and inform Operations team of any risks and or delays during the course of development.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Package Development (REQUIRED)

  • 5+ years' Packaging Development/Engineering experience

  • Prior Prestige Beauty/CPG experience PREFERRED

  • Strong understanding of materials (i.e. glass, metals, plastics) and how they apply to construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging.

  • Technical competency in 2 and 3 dimensions + understanding of clearances, fit and finish of packaging components + subcomponents

  • Must be comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment 

  • Can travel to factories/suppliers in China & Europe
