Merchandising Operations

Our client in the sports apparel and footwear industry is looking to grow their Merchandising Operations team!  During this 3 month contract (that is likely to extend), the candidate’s work will be focused on gathering consumer insights, assortment planning, creating a Go to Market strategy, and product management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathers data from sales, retail, and product creation sources.

  • Validates accuracy, and researches outliers.

  • Develops standardized methods of collecting data.

  • Creates and runs reports, both standard and custom.

  • Analyzes data, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations to Merchandising team.

  • Develops and provides quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models that drive towards merchandising efficiencies, cost effectiveness, and enhanced quality of product assortments.

  • Represents the Merchandising function with IT to ensure systems needs and issues are addressed. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and/or KeyNote

  • Relevant experience in a product, merchandising, retail sales or buying role is preferred

  • Ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities at once, and meet tight deadlines

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree, or one of the following alternatives: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs. 

  • Minimum of 5 or 6 years directly relevant work experience.
