Merchandising Specialist

Our global footwear and apparel client is hiring a Merchandising Specialist for a six month contract that is likely to extend and could lead to fulltime opportunities. This role is remote for now but may go onsite once it's safe. This position is eligible for benefits and sick time. 

Responsibilities: Build consumer offering and multi-season product strategy into an agreed-upon actionable product line architecture and initial product line plan.

• Create and manage merchandising tools including visual assortments, product line attributes, visual and analytical summaries, and physical samples

• Determine and tag product fields for strategic components such as product lifecycle, strategic intent, membership, geo must adopt products

• Build marketplace insights into Product Line Architecture and Plans, through collaboration with Geography Merchants

• Set pricing architecture and MSRP for the product line

• Partner with Global Product to recommend the final global product line across seasons; provide input to Product peers on placeholders to bring products closer to market

• Navigate a multi-season approach to product mix; franchise and classification excellence, product essentials, newness, innovation & exploration

• Provide input to leadership informing invest/divest decisions for both financial goals and number of consumer choices Co Skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to quickly build strong relationships

• Change tolerance/adapting to change

• Proven success in using basic analytical tools

• Can navigate and present information in visual formats (Keynote, PowerPoint)

• General understanding of the relationships between product and the retail landscape

• Can take direction and work independently in a remote work environment to hit deliverables and deadlines

• Strong excel and Keynote/PowerPoint skills a plus Education

• Bachelor’s Degree a plus
