7 month contract, possibility to extend/convert
Our client is a Seattle based leading ecommerce company that is seeking a Paralegal to help support the publishing team. You will handle about publication agreements in addition to other contractual paperwork associated with those agreements - amendments, reversions, terminations, etc. This role also provides negotiation support to editorial teams and drives Contracts Team process improvements forward.
Your responsibilities will include leading contract negotiations as well as drafting contracts and managing publisher relationships for deals relating to audiobook publication and narration, print and e-book publication agreements, and distribution agreements. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills as this position involves direct contact with key business stakeholders. In this role, you will act as a point of contact to cross-functional teams to launch books and audiobooks successfully.
5+ years’ primary and autonomous experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, with knowledge of contract language.
Experience working with MS Office, including Excel and high proficiency of Microsoft Word.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Team player with the ability to work effectively in high-energy, rapidly evolving organization.
Experience as a contracts manager at a book publisher, literary agency, media retailer, or related field involving media or the arts.
Ability to explain contract terms to both legal and non-legal individuals.
