Payroll & Benefits Specialist

• Oversees the administration of company benefits programs (e.g. health, life, long term disability,
COBRA, 401(k), among others)
• Manages the Company FMLA, short term disability, workers compensation, unemployment and
background check programs and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Audit missing timecards and punches for hourly employees and follows up with timecard
approvers for weekly approval of employee hours
• Set up new employees with time tracking tools
• Complete salary and employment verifications
• Educate employees and managers about PTO tracking
• Educate employees about Payroll & Benefits Self-Service tools
• Answer payroll & benefits-related inquiries
• Help coordinate benefits education programs for employees
• Help plan and execute employee events (e.g. town halls, health and wellness fairs, celebrations,
competitions, parties, etc.)
• Prepare offer letters, pay and title change confirmations, and termination templates for
employee life-cycle activities
• Ensure employee life-cycle events are properly communicated to cross-functional partners
• Ensure policies and procedures are signed and acknowledged by employees in compliance with
the Company’s and governments’ requirements
• Administration and coordination of onboarding for new hires

Skills and Experience:
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include advanced
knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• 3-5 years of experience in HR Payroll function
• Previous experience in ADP Workforce Now is REQUIRED for this position
• Strong written communication and verbal skills are essential to this position
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
