Product Manager

Leading Apparel Company located in Orange County is looking for a Product Manager to join their team!

The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned category’s product creation process from concept through commercialization.  They will manage the day to day development process with a focus on quality, margin, and calendar adherence. Most of all, the Product Manager will ensure the creation of market relevant and competitive product.  In addition, they will build strong relationships with North American, European, and International sales teams to ensure the assigned product categories are competitive within each regions marketplace

The Product Manager will also conduct market research and be an expert on the consumer, competitor products, and new technical developments within the snowboard & outdoor industry.


  • Oversees assigned product lines and lead the product concept, design, and development process.
  • Writes seasonal product briefs targeting business opportunity with feature set and materials commensurate to MSRP’s and margin requirement.
  • Presents product information to internal and external groups; including but not limited to prototype review meetings, sales meetings, and key account presentations.  
  • Conducts and reports relevant market research related to product lines.
  • Manages, distributes and maintains all information of assigned product category encompassing style feature sets, VMLP’s, and tech drawing.
  • Manages the day to day development process of assigned product lines
  • Plans and tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the predetermined product development calendar.
  • Develops products, recommends materials, and construction techniques that meet Design expectations and meet or exceed predetermined gross margin targets.
  • Ensures execution of fit and fit consistency through adherence to fit standards.  Manage fit sessions and communicate all fit comments to factory
  • Partners with material suppliers and manufacturers to develop new materials, construction techniques, processes, and prototypes to create innovative and technical products each season with a goal of establishing a long term advanced R&D process for both fabrics and garments
  • Submit and approve all lab lips, prints, artwork for assigned styles
  • Should be an expert in outerwear fabrics with a clear understanding on the manufacturing requirements and limitations of water proof breathable fabrics.  As well, should have an understanding of industry standard test methods.  Must be able to clearly communicate technical fabric information to internal and external stakeholders in an easy to understand manner
  • Ensures execution of fit and fit consistency through adherence to fit standards.  Manage fit sessions and communicate all fit comments to factory
  • Work with factories to ensure the technical superiority of product and manage quality process that meets or exceeds company-wide & customer quality expectations
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationship with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
  • Performs these and other duties as assigned


  • 3+ years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in apparel, operations, business or related field.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Works effectively within a team.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of apparel, materials/fabrics.
  • Retail math skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates clear and accurate verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge of product category, product materials, and product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge of fit, construction, and knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Able to lead a fitting
  • Travel Required: 10%
