Product Marketing Manager

This is start up is that just went public and has double in scale in the last year... looking to do that again this year. They are making waves and ready for the next level with a great product and great people!

As the Product Marketing Manager for the Banking Industry, you will be building out and pioneering a new market to expand this company's reach within the consumer banking market. You will develop and hone our core messaging and value proposition to banks/lenders and have close partnerships with sales, marketing and product management colleagues. In addition, you will develop core sales and marketing tools. You are someone who can effectively engage with the C-level executives at banks and lenders. 

Responsibilities:

  • Positioning: Develop messaging and positioning for key bank personas such as the CEO, head of consumer banks, head of consumer lending and Chief Credit Officer that differentiates Upstart from alternative solutions and the status quo
  • Sales Enablement: Develop high quality content for marketing and sales enablement, including external-facing presentations, customer case studies, demos, as well as internal-facing assets such as objection handling references, product FAQs, and sales training material
  • Marketing Content: Amplify Upstart’s story and value proposition via content including byline articles, explainer videos, blog posts and web copy, as well as work collaboratively to support demand generation and sales development campaigns
  • Competitive Intelligence: Be the expert on competition and ensure the sales team knows how to differentiate and de-position them in the field 
  • Voice of Customer: Work directly with customers, internal stakeholders and analysts to better understand buyer pains, needs and requirements; work with the product team to identify key areas of priority for future product development 
  • Association & Partner Marketing: Assist in the development of strategic partnerships and co-marketing initiatives within the banking industry
  • Packaging & Pricing: Develop compelling packaging and pricing for Upstart’s growing set of offerings and capabilities, along with supporting sales tools

Requirements:

MUST HAVE FINANCIAL/BANKING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of enterprise software / SaaS B2B product marketing experience, including hands-on responsibilities with product messaging, content creation, and sales enablement; experience marketing to the financial services and banking industry is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience at a B2B FinTech company, experience marketing to the banking industry is a plus
  • Experience in and enjoys partnering with Sales to improve sales and marketing effectiveness
  • The ability to think strategically and analytically to break down problems and find creative solutions  
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts succinctly and relevantly to prospective line-of-business buyers and budget owners
  • Product marketing experience working with customers to understand our target market and improve sales and marketing effectiveness, as well as identify customer needs and future product opportunities 
  • A passion for writing and content development to support demand generation and sales efforts
  • A history of building strong working relationships with sales teams, product managers, and senior executives
