Sales Planner

Our client, a notable footwear brand, is looking for a Sales Planner for their LA team to lead business analysis processes recommend strategic actions to capitalize on channel opportunities. 


  • Work to consistently improve cross channel planning, forecasting and reporting capabilities
  • Conduct thorough regional analysis for independent channel, developing actionable strategies to drive territory growth
  • Support AE’s in analyzing sell-through of key accounts, identifying sales to stock opportunities or risks in order to present to retailers
  • Partner with Merchandising and Finance teams in annual planning/ 5 year planning responsibilities
  • Partner with marketing team and Sales Manager to provide analysis, insights and recommendations for future B2B initiatives (e-mails, tradeshows, promos, etc.)
  • Partner with Sales team to manage profitability while creating actionable strategies to affect net sales through gross margin profitability analysis, initiating margin enhancing strategies and minimizing returns
  • Responsible for by style monthly forecasts for select channels
  • Act as channel liaison with Operations and Merchandise teams to asses inventory risks/ opportunities to be able to support sales teams
  • SAP super user for sales team Sales
  • Responsible for management of Off Price Channel, assortment and SMU planning
  • Partner with merchandise manager on markdown cadence and inventory flows to prepare enticing offers to accounts
  • Responsible for pricing and negotiations to ensure profitable business


  • 4-6 years of Wholesale Planning, Allocations, Merchandising and Buying experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market segmentation, product assortment planning, sales forecasting, building projections and inventory management
  • Strong financial aptitude with in-depth knowledge of retail math and assortment planning
  • Proven ability and success in leading a business unit to achieving financial targets
  • Ability to plan resources effectively, anticipate obstacles and develop solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with a focus on building long-term partnerships
  • Highly resourceful, flexible and works well in an unstructured environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Cross functional influencing skills to drive profitability and efficiency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Bachelors Degree
