We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to join the team in their downtown Portland office. The successful candidate will get to work with like-minded folks on cutting-edge web, mobile and cloud applications that help protect and restore our natural world. This is a full-time, mid-level engineering position with responsibility for completing software development tasks of medium to advanced complexity within our Environmental Monitoring practice area. In addition to development tasks, the successful candidate will contribute to design and architectural discussions and take an active role within the team to ensure our applications meet a high standard of performance, quality, and function. Having solid technical chops is not enough, however. Our core business is solving client problems through the thoughtful implementation of technology, data management strategies, and tailored workflows. It’s often just as important to engage a client in exploring the art-of-the-possible as it is to implement the best technical solution. We are looking for a skilled individual who is comfortable and capable of doing both.
• 5-10 years of relevant job experience • B.S. degree or better in computer science or other related engineering/scientific field • Proficient in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JS, Angular, jQuery, and all things HTTP • Proficient in back-end technologies like C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and leverages tools like Resharper to boost personal productivity • Collaborative self-starter who thrives in a team setting • Skilled communicator who is comfortable in technical and non-technical settings • You find great satisfaction completing high quality work that your customers rave about Nice-to-Haves • Experience in Microsoft Azure technologies and the ARM API • Experience in other languages/tools (especially Python, R, Node.js, PowerShell) • No-SQL database experience • Cross-platform mobile application development experience • UX or visual design skills • GIS and interactive web mapping experience • Linux and Docker experience • Work experience or education in the Environmental Sciences
