Speed to Market Designer

Our client is a leading lifestyle client based in Orange County and, they are looking for for a Speed to Market Designer to join their team. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This position will cover all apparel and accessories categories
• Work with the eCommerce teams and analyze key market trends and identify product segmentation or
SMU opportunities to drive incremental revenue and penetration for the brand
• Attend bi-weekly best sellers and meet with the eCommerce buyer weekly to identify and execute speed to market / supplemental product opportunities, maintaining open communication and visibility with the inline product teams
• Undertake market research and analysis
• Design and execute SMU product
• Collaborate with the Design Director on conceptualizing, designing and executing special speed pro- grams
• Ensure technical specification packs are completed accurately and on time
• Manage and adhere to product development calendar
• Complete approvals on color, fabric, trim, art, branding and finishing
• Collaborate with garment technicians to develop and approve the fit and construction
• Have an in-depth knowledge of market, trends, innovation, competition, and product
• Ensure product lines / programs are brought to market in a timely and profitable manner
• Manage time and action calendar to meet all deadlines
 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

• 5+ years’ experience designing women’s apparel
• Strong eye for trend, fabric, print and color
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships within a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Ability to identify key marketplace trends and opportunities that are consistent with brand values and design aesthetic
• Knowledge of product development process / calendar / timelines
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
• Experience in garment fit and construction
• Experience in graphic, color, pattern and trim design
• Experience in embellishment, printing, and finishing techniques
• Experience in fabric development
• Capability to independently manage workload experience in PLM Software
