SRVP Sales & Marketing - Mass & Drugstore Accounts

JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                                        

Our client is looking for a proven executive with demonstrated ability to guide a competitive sales organization, strategically develop new and existing customer relationships, and drive revenue for profitable growth.  The successful candidate will bring a builder mentality to the company and the skill to optimize the organization based on the needs of the business. 

The ideal applicant will have a proven track record of scaling a team and capabilities as needed within the growing consumer Beauty business.  The Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing will manage and lead all Key Account Relationships, Key and Field Sales Management and their direct reports throughout the company.  They will work closely with the executive team to develop and execute the strategic sales plans and sales operating objectives that will be needed to drive growth, enhance revenues and improve overall profitability. The marketing focus is expanding from a specialized natural Beauty brand approach to one that also includes strategies to drive consumer demand in mass market retailers that appeal to a broader consumer base.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                 

**Candidates must be selling into Target, Ulta, and/or Drug store accounts to be considered. 

  • Responsible for YOY growth with existing retail partners and strategic expansion of distribution within mass-market and specialty retailers
  • Lead sales forecasting and budgeting with P&L responsibility by account
  • Develop and negotiate successful promo campaigns with key retail partners that meet sales and margin goals
  • Coordinate leadership with PD and Planning to fully understand product performance and inform new launch and merchandising initiatives
  • Work closely with marketing team to create new product and marketing strategies to improve and expand consumer awareness and ultimately driving incremental sales
  • Lead and develop sales team to make key decisions and recommendations with an analytical and strategic  approach
  • Understand the appropriate product mix, channel diversity, and nuances within each channel, in order to achieve profitable growth
  • Lead in house and regional sales staff to support business development, sales operations and customer service
  • Customize growth plans and support needs for each regional and national market
  • Consistently communicate a comprehensive and clear vision for all sales teams, management and customers
  • Analyze competition and changes within the market to develop strategies and solutions to potential risks
  • Seek out new markets by researching, interviewing and performing due diligence on all potential distribution
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions, spot opportunities and make things happen in a team culture that values honesty, accountability and responsibility
  • Build and strengthen cross-functional team synergy throughout the organization


  • 10+ years of senior level management experience in the Beauty industry
  • Thought leader and creative thinker
  • Highly analytical and proven record of exceeding sales growth in the Beauty industry
  • Exhibit a problem-solving and collaborative attitude
  • BA/BS or MBA degree preferred


  • Planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • An accomplished, balanced leader with track record  of driving top-line growth and bottom-line P&L
