Store Manager

Our home tech start up client  is opening their first flagship store in Palo Alto and they are looking for an experienced Store Manager that they can groom into the Director of Retail as they expand!
 
Location: Palo Alto, CA (Also, headquartered in Palo Alto)
Status: Fulltime- Direct-hire
Anticipated start date: March 2018

The primarily roles of the Retail Store Manager are to interact with and explain our products to customers in a compelling manner, and to hire, manage and inspire a team of sales associates and to meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals. Customer-centric, sales-oriented, tech-savvy, food-loving, and highly organized, the Store Manager will take an active role on the sales floor and within the local community. The ideal candidate for this role has a highly entrepreneurial spirit, strategic agility and excellent training and communication skills.
 
Things you’ll own/do:

  • Develop a solid understanding of Brava’s company vision and brand image and communicate this to customers effectively and with enthusiasm
  • Develop and nurture a customer-centric culture among your team through leading by example, training and more
  • Achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Source, interview, hire, lead, and develop a team of highly qualified sales specialists
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and follow-up of store operational tasks and projects
  • Institute and adhere to processes regarding merchandise display, physical inventory and food ordering, and food storage
  • Communicate with corporate and always try to improve the current processes
  • Help ensure the store’s adherence to food, safety, shopping center and other rules, regulations and standards
  • Work with Brava corporate to plan and execute special events
  • Network and coordinate with key individuals and businesses in the local community to promote Brava and drive sales (e.g., local markets, restaurants, etc.)

 
Candidate skill requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a broad array of customer segments
  • Self-motivation and drive and is never satisfied with the status quo
  • Solutions-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with the local community and market to identify and act on key networking opportunities in a professional manner
  • Solid history of meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Experience with food handling and clean-up and ability to train others
  • Experience and comfort with explaining and pitching a product to prospective customer
  • Comfort roleplaying different sales situations with team
  • Demonstrated passion for food
  • Strong record of sourcing, training, and retaining top sales talent
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and train a team
  • Strong clientele background
  • Prior management or industry experience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Apple Products and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
