Technical Designer- Girls Swimwear

Client Overview:

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of swimwear that collaborates with retailers and licensing partners to shape the future — dynamically and sustainably.

Technical Designer Overview:

As the Technical Designer, you will oversee all aspects of technical design to ensure accuracy of product measurements, quality, construction, and fit.

Technical Designer Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating technical specification packages and specification, and working with fashion designers and production & sourcing teams at development stage and through production

Partner with our Product Development team throughout the sampling process to ensure designs are meeting aesthetic and costing goals

Measure garments accurately to identify any fit issues; execute fit comments efficiently to remain on schedule with production

Lead fit sessions, provide recommendations, note call-outs, and log critiques to accurately and efficiently address all issues with Designers

Provide grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval to ensure quality consistency; collaborate with internal and external partners

Approve samples for production after a thorough evaluation of fit, measurement, pattern shaping, hanger appeal, and functionality

Ensure that products are developed consistent with established fit and quality standards

Responsible for managing the adherence of the time and action calendars during the pre production process

Responsible for daily communication with overseas vendors and cross functional partners

Technical Designer Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Children’s Wear preferred

Knowledge of the Children Safety Guidelines

Must Pattern experience

Strong knowledge of Excel, Microsoft office, Adobe Illustrator and Optitex Pattern system

3D experience a PLUS

Must be willing and able to work in an office 3-4 days a week
