Trade Specialist

A leading luxury appliance distributor based in Burlingame, California is hiring for a Trade Specialist to specialize in kitchen & bath.  

The Trade Specialist will work directly with select architects and kitchen designers throughout the Bay Area.

The Trade Specialist should have experience in kitchen design and be a wonderful communicator who has extremely strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects and interior designers, including: owners, management, salespeople, project managers and the entire staff
  • Routinely visit assigned accounts and respond to all inquiries and requests for information
  • Ensure all accounts are trained and current on entire product lines by conducting weekly training meetings
  • Work closely with the Builder Sales Manager to insure that the product is specified in new projects
  • Conduct weekly “Lunch and Learn” power point presentations to key architects and kitchen designers
  • Develop sketches to convey design details with architects & designers

Required Skills:

  • Experience in kitchen & bath design is required
  • Experience in sales is required, experience in luxury appliances is recommended
  • Work well independently among the trade and with management
  • Excellent inter-personal skills that are critical to establishing and nurturing long-term positive relationships with members of the trade
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Must possess strong presentation skills
  • Possess knowledge of design to speak with architects and designers about kitchen design details and specifications
  • Able to read detailed construction plan sets
  • Attend monthly AIA, ASID, and NKBA meetings held in the evenings

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS preferred
  • Must possess the desire to provide excellence in customer service from the order to the delivery and beyond
  • Must have the ability to build trust-based relationships with customers
  • Possess great problem solving and listening skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills are essential
  • Ability to learn quickly when training others is necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Northern California (San Francisco to Silicon Valley and parts of East Bay)
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends
