Web Content Manager

Analytics Developer

6 month contract

Seattle, WA

The Analytics Web Developer is responsible for engineering, design, implementation and maintenance of web analytics for customer facing sites and providing solid, accurate and real-time data to multiple stakeholders.  Leveraging accepted best practices and latest tech concepts to test, enhance and improve mode marketing analytics practices.  Collaborate with other departments to clarify, interpret and implement creative analytics solutions that accurately, consistently and robustly support the overall business objectives. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of product & marketing tagging strategies using Google Tag Manager
  • Write custom tagging and analytics solutions using JavaScript for multiple sites in a Google 360 platform
  • Set and enforce code, event naming and data standards in the analytics systems
  • Create and provide training to developers & engineers on GTM and GA implementation
  • Review and provide quality assurance feedback to developers & engineers in analytic deployments
  • Build and optimize the systems that allow product, technology and marketing teams to perform their work
  • Ensures data is properly received, transformed, stored and made accessible to other users
  • Advise and consult with designers for optimal solutions involving implementation of complex web projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager tools
  • Experience writing / designing tag specifications (Google Analytics Premium or 360 is highest priority)
  • Experience implementing tags in a tag manager and enacting design and process improvements
  • Deep knowledge of content analytics tools
  • Fluency in the language and common approaches used by digital marketing and web analyst professionals, including ecommerce
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant and/or management experience in this field
  • Significant professional web development experience user server-side and client-side web programming in a commercial environment
  • Experience developing for business-to-business and corporate marketing programs
  • Ability to work independently, while keeping management informed
  • Adaptive, flexible and able to respond to a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with agile methodologies and practices
  • Experience using QA tracking tools and version control software is desired
  • Solid understanding of website structure and the relationship between content, user interface and technologies

Description:

The content manager works closely with cross-functional teams to: build communication/content strategies, transitioning content to web a ready state, and execute effective content concepts. The content manager has deep knowledge of digital content strategies, industry leading tools & platforms and strong opinions of how owned content tools/platforms work together to create best-in-class experiences that drive greater customer engagement. The content manager is also experience in the collection, analysis and creation of strategy based upon web metrics, SEO and web usability. The content manager will bring content industry expertise and knowledge and the skills to drive and execute innovative strategies. This position requires a flexible, dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience in digital content creation, analytics, tools and platforms and understanding/delivering engaging content against platform and business objectives. An understanding of owned digital content within the business strategy and an ability to collaborate is critical. In addition, this person has a drive to plan and deliver actionable results and ability to execute innovative strategies.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Plans and manages digital content calendar and associated implementations

• Plans, develops and delivers digital content products with a focus on end user needs and usability

• Drives digital content analytics and success measures. Analyzes and reports content performance in a meaningful way to stakeholders. Generates and implements innovative content strategies based on analysis.

• Interprets web performance data, creates and implements strategies to optimize content, navigation and overall site usability

• Contributes and manages medium to complex content projects.

• Mentors content contributors to optimize their content by suggesting enhancements based on web best practices, user-experience and external and in-house analytics.

 • Advises team on SEO and creates actionable plans to improve information accessibility.

Skills (minimum skills required):

o Proven ability to create engaging owned content across one or more platforms and create and drive digital content innovation.

o Hands-on experience interpreting content performance data and creating content and strategies based on that data. Intermediate level understanding of digital analytics across channels. Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable insights.

o Solid understanding and thoughtful perspectives on digital owned and storytelling strategies. Current with digital content best practices. Ability to adapt end-user/information to relevant web experiences and strategy, understanding and integrating the latest thinking.

o Able to rapidly produce high-quality communications in digital media. Develops compelling presentation materials. Communicates clearly and concisely. thought-starters. Provides clear feedback and helps shape creative expression in web channels.

o Solid understanding of emerging tools, technology, trends and behaviors in web. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
