Is your organization struggling to find and retain top talent? You’re not alone. A staggering 88% of companies report significant difficulties filling open roles, according to “Beyond Traditional Staffing: The New Era of Talent Solutions,” a just-released report from 24 Seven.

The study, based on insights from nearly 1,000 management-level professionals across the marketing, creative, technology, beauty, fashion, and retail sectors, reveals a notable shift in how organizations must approach talent acquisition in 2025 and beyond. The traditional hiring playbook is being rewritten as businesses grapple with unprecedented change. Here’s a snapshot of what the data tells us about the increased use of a mixed talent model:

  • 76% of organizations now use freelancers, contractors, or consultants either frequently or occasionally
  • 59% rely on a mix of in-house teams and outside resources
  • 40% partner with talent solutions agencies as their primary recruiting method

While 71% of respondents believe their teams are adequately staffed, the research shows that many organizations are operating at suboptimal levels. With 39% of companies taking one month or longer to fill open roles, prolonged hiring processes are driving up costs and hindering productivity and competitiveness.

The report also highlights the widening skills gap, emphasizing two distinct hiring trends: the increasing demand for versatile generalists vs. niche specialists. Additionally, it underscores the surging need for expertise in analytics and AI, as well as the rapid shift toward comprehensive talent solutions that offer companies greater flexibility and scalability.

If you’re ready to reimagine your talent strategy, download 24 Seven’s full report to gain crucial information on building an agile, future-ready workforce. The question today isn’t whether to transform your talent approach, but how quickly you can evolve to gain a competitive edge.
