Assistant Designer (Kids)
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a creative, organized, and trend-obsessed Assistant Designer to support our fast-paced design team. Must be fluent in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, have strong sketching skills and a keen eye for trend. Must have some kids knowledge or a strong interest in learning kids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing trend-right product across multiple categories
- Sketching within Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Maintain seasonal design files, sample tracking
- Partner with tech design, production and sales teams
- Attend fittings and design meetings assisting in the full development cycle
- Participate in shopping and trend reporting across online and retail markets
- Daily communication with overseas vendors regarding yarn sourcing and sample development
- Tech pack development for initial samples
Skills & Qualifications:
- BA in Fashion Design or similar
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Highly organized with great attention to detail thrives in fast pace environment
- Elevated trend-driven taste level
- Passionate about shopping and staying on top of what’s trending (retail, social media, influencers)
- Basic knowledge of garment construction (gauges, stitches, yarn types) or a strong desire to learn knitwear
- A strong portfolio including:
- Technical Flats
- Sketches
- Mood boards
- Color stories
- Prior internship or professional experience is a plus but not required
Salary range $50-60k
