Assistant Designer (Girls)
Onsite NYC 5 days a week
Salary: 50-65k DOE
A leading kids’ lifestyle brand is seeking a Girls’ Assistant Designer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, 5-days-onsite role based in New York City, offering hands-on experience in the girlswear category and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative, creative environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the design process from concept through development for girls’ separates
- Create and maintain tech packs and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Produce clean, accurate flat sketches; assist with graphics and prints as needed
- Handle data entry and track product changes throughout the development cycle
- Troubleshoot development issues with cross-functional partners
- Meet deadlines and respond positively to direction and feedback in a fast-paced setting
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Apparel or Fashion Design (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of design experience; internships considered
- Previous Kidswear or interest in Kidswear design
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop is a plus
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple styles/details
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, positive mindset
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
