Job Title:
Associate Designer
Job Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate Designer to become a vital part of our dynamic design team. This role will involve collaborating closely with the Young Contemporary/ Junior’s team and contributing significantly to the creative process, ensuring our commitment to producing beautiful and authentic designs with high-quality materials.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on market trends, inspirations, and seasonal color palettes, recolor prints.
- Create hand sketches of initial concepts for the pattern maker
- Work in partnership with internal design teams and Design Director with design development.
- Manage sample shipments effectively.
- Handle various tasks as needed to meet project deadlines, maintaining a positive attitude.
- Participate in line review meetings with the Design Team to assess samples.
- Assist in all product-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design , few years out of school preferred
- A minimum of two years of experience in juniors/ young contemporary categories
- Seeking someone who has their hand on what is trending, Gen Z focused
- A portfolio reflecting Illustrations , CADs, Mood/Trend boards
- An eye for detail regarding style, color, fabric, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
*Note this is Hybrid Schedule, Contract for 2-3 months plus
* Fulltime hours ( 40 hrs or close to it)
Rate: $35-45/hr DOE
