Job description

Our client, a growing creative agency has an immediate need for a Client Finance Manager. This is a freelance opportunity (40 hours a week) with potentail to go fulltime for the right candidate. Must be able to work onsite once a week in the LA area.

This position is critical to our operations and will work closely across Account Management, Experiential, Creative, Strategy, and Production. We’re looking for candidates who bring both strong technical finance skills and the interpersonal qualities to lead with clarity, influence, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities: • Partner with Account leadership to deliver proactive, solutions-oriented financial guidance across assigned clients • Lead monthly financial reviews and drive conversations around billing, utilization, and job reconciliations • Interpret scopes of work and ensure alignment between staffing, budgets, and client deliverables • Analyze time tracking, labor utilization, and budget performance, identify risks, and recommend strategic solutions • Provide financial modeling and forecasting to support resourcing, pricing, and revenue planning • Maintain compliance across MSAs and SOWs; enforce billing schedules and audit readiness • Track and report actuals vs. budgets vs. targets; prepare job-level and client profitability reports • Manage accounts receivable, OOP reconciliation, and cash flow forecasting • Support month-end close processes and agency-level reporting • Represent Finance in both internal and external meetings with professionalism and clear communication • Provide timely updates to the Director of Client Finance and collaborate on agency-wide planning

Required Qualifications: • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 5 to 10 years of finance experience in a marketing, advertising, or PR firm • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Proven ability to independently lead financial reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with senior stakeholders • Strong analytical, forecasting, and budgeting skills with high attention to detail and accuracy • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to guide account teams and lead meetings • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong initiative, time management, and prioritization skills across multiple projects and deadlines • Intellectually curious with a continuous learning mindset; actively seeks opportunities to improve processes and add strategic value • Collaborative team player with a solution-oriented approach and willingness to lead when needed

Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Deltek Maconomy (or similar financial systems) • Familiarity with agency operations, scopes of work, and labor allocation
