Job description

Our client, a top ad agency is looking for a Director of Business Affairs.

This is a FTE opportunity that is fully remote. Must be able to work PST hours if located in another time zone.  

This candidate will lead our Business Affairs and Talent Management efforts by applying their expertise in talent contracts, negotiations, music licensing, rights and clearances in partnership with our agency legal counsel. The Director of Business Affairs will also work closely with Producers and Sr. Business Affairs Managers overseeing broadcast, digital content, print and experiential projects across all clients. This candidate will report to the VP, Head of Production. 

Provide day to day Business Affairs oversite on all production related matters. 
Review creative concepts and advise Creatives and agency team members on any talent and legal matters.
Work closely with Creatives and Producers on any legal concerns/searches (i.e. music licenses/stock image licenses/contracts, releases, etc.).
Work side by side with Producers during bidding and estimating process, pre-production and shoot.
Generate talent estimates and negotiate celebrity talent contracts for production jobs.
Work closely with cost consultants to protect the best interest of the production.
Upon award manage execution of the production contract and submit all production jobs for insurance coverage.
Work with Account Executives to issue and maintain talent reuse estimates on a quarterly or per commercial basis for all television, radio and internet commercials.
Provide oversite to ensure all union talent reuse payments are being paid properly by talent payroll vendor and are on budget.
Work with Producers and key Finance team members to review vendor agreements and contracts to ensure compliance.
Work closely with Sr. Business Affairs Managers to facilitate information sharing and problem solving.
Work with Producers to reconcile and close production jobs.
Remain up to date on all SAG, AFTRA & AFM union guidelines, and handle all union inquiries, claims, audits, etc.

Requirements
Responsible, self-motivated, highly organized individual who learns quickly and communicates well with others.
Ability to juggle multiple projects with tight timelines is required.
A high degree of professionalism with a strong focus on accuracy, attention-to-detail, and timeliness is a must.
Flexible and able to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to follow-up effectively and work well under pressure.
Extensive Knowledge of SAG union contracts.
Current computer/software knowledge and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Able to work extended hours when necessary.
10+years of Business Affairs experience at an advertising agency required.
