Location: Washington, D.C. (2–3 days in-office)

Salary Range: $100,000–$125,000 annually, with a 20% year-end performance bonus opportunity

Our design firm client is seeking a marketing director to join their team. The client’s portfolio includes a design studio, an online retail shop, and a product development and manufacturing division. The marketing director will spearhead our brand’s storytelling and growth initiatives through creative leadership and strategic marketing. This hands-on role blends creative direction, content strategy, organic social growth, and team leadership to elevate their brand presence across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive organic marketing strategies that boost brand visibility and engagement
  • Craft compelling narratives and content pillars that reflect the company’s values, aesthetics, and educational mission across social media, blogs, and community channels
  • Guide all creative efforts including copywriting, content production, photo/video shoots, and edit oversight to ensure a consistent, on-brand voice and visual style
  • Mentor and manage a small, agile team of content creators and marketing coordinators, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence
  • Build and maintain authentic partnerships with creators, educators, and brand ambassadors to amplify reach and community connection
  • Utilize analytics to evaluate campaign performance, inform content decisions, and report on key marketing metrics regularly
  • Work closely with product development, design, shop, and paid media teams to align messaging and maximize impact

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrable success growing organic social channels and managing creative marketing teams
  • Exceptional storytelling and copywriting skills tailored for diverse digital platforms
  • Expertise in content production, visual storytelling, and editorial standards
  • Strong analytical capabilities to leverage data in driving marketing strategy
  • Experience with influencer marketing and community engagement
  • Proficiency in tools such as Meta Suite, CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Klaviyo, Shopify, and Pinterest
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and collaborative mindset with a passion for family-centered learning and design
