Freelance- Technical Designer-Onsite- Los Angeles

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Technical Designer to join a leading fashion brand on a freelance basis. This role will oversee the technical product development process and ensure consistency of fit, construction, and quality across assigned product categories.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee fit, construction, quality, and consistency from development through production

• Lead fittings and make independent fit and construction decisions

• Attend weekly cross-functional meetings with Product Development, Design, and Merchandising

• Issue fit comments and maintain daily communication with vendors

• Track and maintain approval deadlines with Product Development

• Mentor and assist junior technical designers

• Support and fill in for the Lead Technical Designer

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in technical design, patternmaking, or quality assurance

• Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge of garment construction, grading, fit standards, and fabric performance

• Ability to communicate clearly, mentor junior team members, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
