Girls Toy Designer

Our client is looking for an experienced Girls Toy Designer who can do fashion dolls, small dolls, playsets, features, etc. 

This is a temp to hire Hybrid opportunity in Culver City, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in business and product strategy development, including creating innovative slots and rationale for existing brand
  • Relentlessly drive innovation in each product
  • Prepare multiple sketch options for potential product ideas to ensure delivering the best
  • Participate in business and product strategy development, including creating innovative slots and rationale for existing brand
  • Concept development for existing brands and new areas of expansion
  • Research and review new product categories
  • Prepare sketch drawings of potential product ideas and concepts
  • Ability to conceptually layout a cohesive line even when starting very little direction
  • Develop detailed drawings and or models of potential products
  • Evaluate and measure actual forecast performance against objectives/plan
  • Prepare presentations for review of product design concepts. Prepare final drawings of new products
  • Create 3-D models or illustration drawings of new products
  • Drive design projects forward, including utilizing outside consultants and vendors as needed
  • Prepare various product description / documentation forms required by the Engineering and Production Departments for turnover of final product designs for manufacturing
  • Interface and communicate with the overseas office on all aspects of the design and development process.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Product Design within the toy, hard goods or toy industry working within girls categories.
  • Bachelor’s Degree B.S.I.D or B.A.I
  • Experience with CAD and a computer-based design. Specific software experience required includes SolidWorks, Pro/E, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Structural design competencies
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and take products from initial concept through to production
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the marketplace and develop product to address real opportunities
  • Portfolio of professional work
