is an advanced contemporary women’s apparel brand.
They are seeking a Head of Production Pattern Maker to lead the refinement of production-ready patterns for our ready-to-wear collection. This role is essential in transforming the design team’s vision into precise, scalable patterns that meet our standards for fit, construction, and premium craftsmanship.
Head of Production Patternmaker Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine production-ready patterns across categories including tops, pants, dresses, and blazers, ensuring consistent fit and construction.
- Communicate fit intent, garment balance, and construction details clearly to Designers and Technical Designers
- Attend production fittings and implement necessary updates:
- Use Gerber to adjust patterns based on fit comments
- Cut and sew test samples to verify new pattern accuracy
- Inspect finished samples and advise on required changes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Raw Materials, Quality Control, and Production to ensure design integrity and feasibility in manufacturing
Deliver assignments on schedule in accordance with the production calendar and manage the team to be aligned
Lead, train, and mentor team: providing hands-on guidance, technical support, and regular feedback to maintain high standards and foster team development
Oversee and review the work of team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment
Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment that emphasizes quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Anticipate and resolve issues related to production timelines, quality, or costing; proactively communicate risks to management and partners
Create and maintain Cutter’s Musts and digital pattern files in the shared library
Ensure fit and sizing consistency across development and production fit models
Stay current on industry trends, competitor standards, and emerging patternmaking technologies
Head of Production Patternmaker Qualifications:

10+ years of experience as a Pattern Maker in the apparel industry
- Strong technical expertise across a range of categories, with a focus on tailoring
- Proficiency in patternmaking CAD software: Gerber Lectra (preferred)
- Strong computer skills: MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to train and mentor others
- In-depth knowledge of fabric behavior and performance in mass production
