Position: Lead Finance Executive – Report to the Board (Executive Chairman, CEO, COO)
Client: Advertising / Media Agency 
100% remote. 

My client is seeking a candidate for a full-time role as the Lead Finance Executive (“LFE”, exact title tbd based on experience) for a highly successful performance marketing specialist company focused on video (CTV/OTT/TV) and audio (podcasts/streaming audio/radio) optimizations for small to mid-sized DTC advertisers. The business recently partnered with the Executive Chairman’s private capital SPV (ie, PE backed) and a middle-market institutional lender.  Founded in 2018, the company is growing rapidly with approximately 22 employees and 60 advertisers.

It is imperative the LFE have every proven skill and experience necessary to (i) rapidly and easily account and close the books for this business with a small team and (ii) concisely summarize the most relevant and actionable business and financial information to the key executive team and the Board.  In addition, the LFE will oversee every aspect of the accounting, treasury and risk management functions, ensuring the business has prudent systems and processes that will virtually guarantee its success.

Specific focus areas will include: detailed management of cash flow; key input in evolving client contract/documentation processes and language; and identifying and implementing key accounting and operational systems.

This is a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious, talented and hard working financial executive to play a key role in a PE backed business with well connected stakeholders, and to learn every aspect of a superb CFO’s role, including value added M&A, through a close partnership with the experienced and successful Executive Chairman.
 
The role will include well structured equity in the value created at the business. 

This position will begin fully remote with the expectation that the Company will establish a headquarters in the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and/or build a physical office around the LFE.  

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting and/or CPA certification;
  • MBA and/or CFA, designation is strongly preferred;
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting/finance;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience in media and media agencies is highly desirable;
  • Fluency in selecting, implementing and operating accounting packages as the company transitions to GAAP compliance and reporting;
  • Superior Excel and Google Sheet modeling skills are mandatory;
  • The ideal candidate will have “hands-on” M&A experience on both the buy-side and sell-side;
  • Experience in preparing PE quality board presentations as well as acquisition/financing presentations;
  • Experience in working with private equity-backed companies and/or institutional lenders is desired;
  • Hands-on, “get it done” mentality and approach mandatory; and
  • Clearly demonstrated experience as the point person (i) closing the books at at least one company (and preferably two+) plus (ii) reporting and synthesizing that information to the CEO/Board.
