With a leadership team from companies like Apple and Nike, they are bringing premiere product design excellence to the people that need it most: our communities. They are working with groups that are providing help in the following areas: crisis response and care, substance abuse, chronic disease prevention, mental health, foster programs, behavioral health, etc.
This is a hybrid position. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of designing from home most days, and connecting with the team in person a few days per month at our office in Long Beach, CA.
Must-have skills:
-bigger brand consumer product background (airbnb, google, uber, lyft, etc.). Mobile first brand presence
-consumer product driven design
-strong simple, beautiful, visual and portfolio over process design
-being able to present effectively
-6+ Years of experience in a leadership role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the entire product design process, starting from generating ideas and studying user interactions, to crafting prototypes, conducting user tests, and finalizing UI/UX design.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and healthcare experts, to gather requirements, prioritize features, and seamlessly integrate design with technology.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and solutions to the team using user personas, user journey maps, and wireframes.
- Work with user research to capture and understand user needs, pain points, and behavior patterns, translating these insights into innovative design solutions.
- Develop high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications showcasing a deep understanding of UI and interaction design principles.
- Lead and participate in user testing sessions to gather feedback, iterate on designs, and validate product concepts
- Establish and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure design consistency and quality across all product touchpoints.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture within the team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design methodologies to continually enhance the product design process.
Qualifications:
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor's in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 6 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or similar software.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions and present design solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative design solutions.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and user needs is a plus.
