We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support our team during a 20-week maternity leave coverage assignment (early February start date). In this role, you will oversee both the strategic and tactical planning of our manufacturing operations to maximize service levels, optimize inventory flow, and ensure cost-efficient production.

You’ll work closely with internal partners and external contract manufacturers to manage production schedules, materials planning, purchase orders, and issue resolution. This role is ideal for a hands-on supply chain professional with experience in beauty, skincare, wellness, hair care, or broader CPG manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate raw material and component deliveries to ensure timely production and on-time delivery.
  • Manage production plans across multiple manufacturing partners; flag potential supply risks early.
  • Create and issue purchase orders and work orders; maintain tight control over raw materials and finished goods to minimize excess.
  • Resolve production challenges promptly and escalate as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of item costing, bills of material, and inventory data.
  • Partner with fillers to obtain monthly overconsumption, stock, and scrap reports.
  • Oversee production scheduling, due-date adherence, and issue resolution.
  • Manage open stock and kit assembly production planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Inventory Management and Customer Support to align on inventory goals, fill rates, and fluctuating demand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, production planning, or supply chain.
  • Industry background in beauty, skincare, wellness, hair care, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) required.
  • Experience working with MRP systems; NetSuite preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain metrics and performance indicators.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing work with contract manufacturers.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Complete understanding of production cycles from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a high sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs required); proficiency in Access and Microsoft Office Suite.

Role Details

  • Assignment: 20 weeks (maternity leave coverage)
  • Start Date: Early February
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week
  • Reports To: Senior Director of Procurement & Production
