Director, Specialty & Boutique Strategy (Contract)
Location: Atlanta, GA (preferred) or New York, NY
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension
Reports to: Head of Sales
Rate: $85/hr
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director-level leader to step into a highly visible, strategic role. This individual will inspire a dynamic sales organization at a leading brand while leading the development and execution of a go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the specialty and boutique channel (800+ boutiques). The role requires a balance of strategic vision, analytical rigor, and hands-on execution, with direct impact on business performance and long-term planning.
This position will work arm-in-arm with leadership, including the COO and senior sales leaders, to manage both short-term organizational needs and long-term initiatives (such as building out a boutique sales strategy).
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account & Boutique Management
- Lead the boutique growth initiative, developing GTM strategies and uncovering new revenue opportunities.
- Partner with sales agencies and commission-based reps to strengthen boutique relationships and drive adoption of sales platforms (e.g., NuOrder).

Team Leadership & Stability
- Provide leadership coverage maternity leave transitions.
- Inspire, motivate, and lift the team through clear direction, coaching, and strategic prioritization.
- Partner closely with internal leaders to balance account-facing responsibilities with strategic planning.

Data-Driven Planning & Execution
- Mine and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable sales strategies, one-pagers, and meeting briefs for sales reps and leadership.
- Build GTM playbooks and B2B sales strategies that can scale across specialty and boutique channels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Sales on organizational structure, balancing short-term needs with long-term growth plans.
- Act as a thought partner to senior leadership, providing visibility and alignment at the highest levels (including CEO touchpoints).
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in sales planning, strategic account management, or B2B sales leadership, ideally within specialty or boutique-driven businesses.
- Strong background in GTM strategy development and execution.
- Proven ability to lead through transition and inspire high-performing teams.
- Exceptional analytical and Excel skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Experience balancing hands-on execution with strategic leadership.
- Familiarity with platforms such as NuOrder (nice to have, not required).
- Based in Atlanta strongly preferred; New York candidates will also be considered.
