The Senior Accountant is a full-time role for an ambitious and detail-oriented accounting professional. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
This position will oversee a variety of accounting tasks and financial analyses that support ongoing financial operations. Responsibilities include compiling financial statements, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries for month-end close, and contributing to key finance projects. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supporting leadership, and contributing to the overall success of the finance department.
Accounting Operations
- Manage all activities related to full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns.
- Reconcile bank statements and create weekly cash flow reports.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and project support to leadership and cross-functional teams.
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and record journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports on performance, variances, and trends.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reviewing balances and preparing closing entries.
- Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Assist with audit coordination and compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the apparel industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to meet month-end deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- GCS A2000 experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong time management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven experience compiling financial statements, recording journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
