Our healthcare startup client is seeking an SEO Specialist who can own and execute strategies that drive sustainable organic growth. This role sits at the intersection of technical optimization and content strategy, requiring someone who can balance analytical rigor with creative execution. You’ll be the point person for ensuring our digital presence is discoverable, competitive, and primed for conversion. This position will report to the Head of Marketing and will be on-site in Arlington, VA. You must have start-up expereince.
Responsibilities

Content Optimization & Strategy: Conduct keyword research and develop content briefs that align with audience intent, editorial strategy, and growth goals. Collaborate with copywriters on blogs, landing pages, and long-form content to maximize visibility.

Technical SEO: Perform regular site audits, identify and prioritize fixes, and partner closely with developers to improve site health, crawlability, performance, and overall technical foundation.

Authority & Backlink Building: Design and implement strategies to increase domain authority through ethical link-building, outreach, and digital PR campaigns.

Analytics & Reporting: Track and report on rankings, traffic, and engagement metrics; present insights and recommendations to marketing leadership with a focus on business outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with CRO and design teams to align site structure, UX, and conversion paths with SEO best practices. Ensure SEO is integrated across campaigns and digital initiatives.

Industry Awareness: Stay ahead of algorithm updates, search trends, and emerging tools to adjust strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- 4–6+ years of hands-on SEO experience with both technical and content-focused initiatives.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable organic growth for B2C brands.
- Proficiency in leading SEO platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, GA4).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Familiarity with WordPress and experience collaborating with developers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and partner across teams.
